We have researched military history for many years, with research being done mainly through newspapers, letters, talking to family and the like. We get numerous requests from families to help them research their loved ones military history, most times it is to learn about, what they did in service and if they received any medals.
The site FOLD3 has been a great addition to our arsenal of places to do this important work. They just released a collection of yearbooks to help researchers and families with the hunt.
I like to share this information, not so we don’t get requests for help, but for others to know what new information is available.
I also just find it fascinating the amount of history that you can learn from such documents!
